yes! we accept submissions for album releases under the collective, but not everyone may be accepted.
OR, if you'd like to just obtain tapes or minidiscs for your album (for you to sell yourself), we also offer paid cassette & minidisc production, shipped straight to your door.

if you submit an album for us to distribute under the vacant tapes collective, and it is accepted, here's how it will work:
Cassette Tapes: You can either decide the price of the tape, or go with our recommended price. The collective will keep the amount it costs to manufacture, and the rest will go to you. [the manufacturing cost is different between every project. we will let you know how much yours costs before you decide how much the tape will cost.]
Vinyl: We sell our vinyl records for $33. You and Vacant Tapes will both get $5 per record sold. The rest of the money goes towards the cost of pressing.

all collective tapes are non-profit. you can listen for free on soundcloud and bandcamp.
should you choose to buy a tape from the store, they are priced the same as they cost to manufacture. we do not make any profit from those tapes.
although we used to do it, we do not offer digital distribution to streaming platforms anymore. everything goes on our soundcloud and bandcamp.
